About the Journal

Muqoddima is a biannual, peer-reviewed open-access journal published by the Laboratory of Sociology, UNUSIA. It facilitates theoretical advancement and empirical inquiry across the fields of social, cultural, and political life—particularly in contexts marked by inequality, transition, and resistance. The journal values pluralism in methods, theory, and epistemology, encouraging scholarship that crosses disciplinary and regional boundaries.

Muqoddima Jurnal Pemikiran dan Riset Sosiologi  is an academic journal published by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nahdlatul Ulama University of Indonesia (UNUSIA) Jakarta. Muqoddima invites academics and researchers in the fields of social sciences and humanities particularly sociology as well as social practitioners and activists to submit their articles. Submissions may be written in either Indonesian or English, following the provided template. Muqoddima is published biannually in June and December.
