Editorial Workflow Stages
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's OJS platform in accordance with the Author Guidelines. Submitted manuscripts must be original, complete, and prepared using the official MIZANIA article template.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team evaluates each manuscript for relevance, originality, formatting, methodological quality, and compliance with publication ethics. A similarity check is conducted using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned for revision or rejected without external peer review.
3. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. MIZANIA adopts a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential. Editors must not serve as external reviewers of manuscripts they handle.
4. Peer Review
Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, validity of findings, quality of analysis, and scholarly contribution. Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations to support editorial decisions.
5. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editor may decide to accept the manuscript, request minor or major revisions, invite resubmission for further review, or reject the manuscript.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on scholarly merit, reviewers' recommendations, and the journal's editorial standards. Additional reviewers may be invited when necessary.
6. Manuscript Revision
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' and editors' comments. Revised submissions should include a response document explaining how the comments have been addressed.
Manuscripts requiring substantial revisions may undergo an additional round of peer review before a final decision is made.
7. Copyediting and Layout
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to improve linguistic accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with the journal's formatting and referencing requirements.
The Layout Editor prepares the final publication files according to the journal's official template.
Proofreading and Publication
The final manuscript undergoes proofreading to identify and correct typographical, linguistic, and formatting errors. Authors may be requested to review the final proofs before publication.
Editorial Independence and Publication Ethics
MIZANIA maintains editorial independence and ensures that publication decisions are based solely on academic merit and ethical considerations. Editors and reviewers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and must not participate in evaluating manuscripts in which they have a personal or professional interest.
The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to support transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and accountability throughout the editorial process.
All manuscripts are evaluated according to the same scholarly and ethical standards, regardless of the authors' institutional affiliations or academic positions.
